Christian Clemen, born 1976, graduated in 2004 as a Dipl.-Ing. in Surveying from the Technical University of Berlin. From 2004 to 2010 he was an Assistant at the Department of Geodesy and Geoinformation, Technical University of Berlin. Since 2013 he has been a full professor at the HTW Dresden, University of Applied Sciences. He teaches adjustment calculation, CAD and BIM. His research topic is building information modelling (BIM) from a geomatics perspective. Prof. Clemen is an active member of buildingSMART Germany, the German Standardization Body (DIN, “BIM data exchange”) and representative in the ISO/TC 59/SC 13/JWG 14 “BIM/GIS interoperability”. Besides being dean of studies (geomatics) at the HTW Dresden he is External Examiner at the School of Surveying & Construction Management, TU Dublin.
